The Guitar Man - Bread
Tuning: G, E A D G B E
Song: The guitar man
Artist: Bread
Composer: David Gates
Album: The guitar man
Tabbed by DJ 22nd Nov 2022
I would recommend using the voicings in the text
column numbers below.
Regarding the CHORD BOX DIAGRAMS please follow the
information at the bottom of the tab.
G = 320003 A = x02220 D7 = xx0212
C = 332010 A4 = x02230 D7sus4 = xx0213
D = xx0232 Bm7 = x24232 G/F# = 2x0003
D4 = xx0233 Am = x02210 E = 022100
Dsus2 = xx0230 AmM7 = x02110 E7 = 020100
Cmaj7 = 332000 Am7 = x02010 E4 = 022200
Em = x02200 Cmaj7 * = x32400
N.C. = No chords
David Gates definitely plays an Am7,
but a smooth alternative to that is to substitute
it with an Am9 = x05500
I feel the additional open B string blends better
with the vocal but it's your choice
Please take a second to scroll down to the bottom of
the page and select a star rating for my tab, thanks

For the GUITAR chord box diagrams to match my
suggested choices you need to manually select the
following choice of options by clicking on the
forward/backward arrows below four of the diagrams.
All the other chord boxes should be the default
first option and don't need any reselecting
A4 Bm7 G/F# E4
<2 of 21> <2 of 31> <12 of 16> <3 of 25>
There are two inversions of Cmaj7 I use,
(differentiated by an asterisk in my chord legend).
Currently there is no facility to save both
variations as chord boxes, so you will have to
choose which one of them to display
Cmaj7 or Cmaj7 *
