Wichita - Gillian Welch
Tuning: C, E A D G B E
This tab comes from the performance of Gillian and David Rawlings in Carrboro in 2001, which can be found on
YouTube. It also closely fits the "Boots No. 1" album version.
They play it in C with a capo at the 5th fret, so she starts with a G chord shape. This tab is in C with no
capo, but for a male singer you may want to capo 2 or 3 and sing an octave lower.
There is a drop down in the chorus at "Goin' back..." and "You can still hear..." - here is how I play it,
though I know the chord names are wrong (anyone know the names? To me it sounds fine when played quickly:
|-1----1----0-
|-1----1----1-
|-2----0----0-
|-3----2----0-
|-x----x----x-
|-x----x----x-
---0----3----1
---1----0----1
---0----0----2
---2----0----3
---3----2----3
---x----3----1
