Me, my thought

Watch the road

[Verse 2]
The ocean is t

We're closer n

[Chorus]
I have got to

Leave the road

this life that
pass before m

[REPEAT INTRO RIFF]
[Verse 3]
There's no one

Fall into the

[Chorus]
The river to t

None of this

There is nothi

[Chorus]
Strength and c

River poet sea

Pick up here a
nd chase the r
ide, the river
empties to th
e tide.
All of this is
coming your w
ay.
[***Outro]
This can be played in 5th position as well, which in my opinion mimics
both guitar parts a little more accurately in terms of which notes ring.
However, this introduces a different timbre; the recording sounds like
both guitars are played in open position.

**There is debate whether this is dessert, desserts, or deserve. I think
it sounds closer to "dessert" than "deserve" on the recording, but Stipes
says "deserve" in some live versions where he annunciates more clearly.
I don't pretend to make sense of his lyrics. Ever.
***This is both acoustic guitars combined into one line of tablature
NOTE: Concerning the chord FMaj7sus2add6...There are tablature books that
label this as a Dmin chord, which obviously isn't correct if you play
with the recording - there are more colors in that chord than a minor triad.
I'm more inclined to label it as an FM7sus2add6 chord because the bass plays
an F on that chord. There are probably several ways to interpret this chord.
