I've seen so many versions of this song which are oh-so close to being
right but at the same time wrong enough to sound awful when played-here 
is my version which sounds spot on.

If one guitar plays the barre chords and the other plays power chords during the
verse, then in the chorus one guitar plays the open chords and the other plays
barre chords, its sound spot on...the layer guitars

 Edit  The second guitar part works nicley played in open G  just
like Brown sugar; , so if you tune to open G  DGDGBD  and play this rhythm for
the chorus and the intro, then just take away the 'sus's and variate for the verses.
